The climate at Misty Mountain is moderate. Summer days are warm with daytime temperatures averaging around 25° Celsius. Winter days are mild and dry with temperatures around 18° Celsius. Throughout the year, the temperature drops in the evenings and winter nights can be cold and crisp. Because Misty Mountain sits in the mist belt, a higher than average annual rainfall of about 1500 mm is experienced and this rainfall occurs mainly in the summer months.

The water at Misty Mountain is extremely clean and very suitable for drinking. The Nels River rises about 300 metres from the hotel. It is this water that is used by the hotel.

Misty Mountain is situated in a malaria free area between Lydenburg and Sabie.

Petrol is not available at Misty Mountain, so, depending in which direction you are travelling, the nearest petrol station to Misty Mountain is in Lydenburg (31 kilometres drive) or in Sabie (24 kilometres drive).

For medical assistance, there are doctors and pharmacies in Lydenburg and Sabie. The closest public hospital is in Sabie and the closest private hospital is in Nelspruit.

We do not allow pets at Misty Mountain.
